Bird to Prey will be performing at NXNE Showcase Festival in Toronto this Friday June 19

NXNE is Canada's premier music showcase / festival which has been running for 15 years, and features some of the most promising up and coming artists!

Bird to Prey supporting Jeff Martin - February 9, 2009

Bird to Prey is once again excited to be packing her bags and getting ready to head out on road supporing the wonderful Jeff Martin (Ex Tea Party, currently in the Armada) at his solo shows.
They will be performing 9 dates on the Eastern Side of Australia beginning on the 11th of Feb (the details of which can be found in the gig guide section of this site! Ticketing info through venues)

Bird to Prey 'We are not kings here' CD Launch - November 6, 2008

Bird to Prey has just returned from a stellar time at the CMJ Music Marathon in New York City

Sarah is now back home and is getting ready for the CD Launch which is happening on Saturday November 15 at the Norfolk Basement

Special guests on the evening will be Turin Robinson, Gosia Basinska, and Mitey-Ko

Sarah will be joined on stage by Hugh Veldon on drums and special guest Turin Robinson

Doors open 8pm and tickets are $20 with CD or $10 without

Bird to Prey at CMJ - October 17, 2008

Bird to Prey will be performing two shows at CMJ Music Marathon in New York City this October

She will be performing at Googies Lounge (Upstairs Living Room) on Thursday October 23 at 7.30pm (154 Ludlow st, NYC)

Also as part of the West Australian Music Showcase on Saturday October 25 at 2pm at Arlene's Grocery (95 Stanton st, NYC)

Bird to Prey on Tour - September 14, 2008

We are very excited to announce that the first few dates have been set for the
release of 'We are not kings here' the first album from Bird to Prey.

Next week Sarah and Hugh will be heading on a small tour of the 'East Coast', to
the Grace Emily in Adelaide on Thursday Sept 25 with good friends Humble Bee and Courtney Robb.

On Saturday Sept 27 they will be supporting the Beautiful Freya Hanly at the Alley Cat Bar in Hobart. Show starts 8pm.

The date for W.A. is yet to be confirmed but you can catch them before they go this Thursday Sept 18 at the Little Creatures Loft with Kim McDonald, and the Blackboard Minds, Show starts 8.30 and
entry is free.

Recording Update - August 9, 2008

Just a quick note to let you know that Bird to Prey's new album is
being mastered at Couch Studio's in North Fremantle, and we are
eagerly awaiting the results - not long to go now!

Launches will be happening all over the countryside, in Adelaide on Sept 25
Hobart September 27, and a big launch scheduled at the Fly by Night in Fremantle in October.

Recording - November 29, 2007

Bird to Prey has just begun recording her debut album - and it is sounding pretty good so far - if she does say so herself!

The Album is yet to be named, but we can tell you that Sarah is performing on the album with Hugh Veldon (from King Wasabi) on the drums, and has just recorded a wonderful duet with Turin Robinson (Ryans Well)

She is recording at Distillery Sound with the amazing engineer Brandon Davids!

Final Toronto Show with the Toronto Tabla Ensemble! - October 25, 2007

Bird to Prey is back in Toronto to open up 3 bigs shows for the Toronto
Tabla Ensemble, on on October 25, 26, and 27.

The Toronto Tabla Ensemble are a critically acclaimed independent
band from Toronto, Canada. A total music experience, the TTE has
developed its own powerful style using rhythms from India, while
exploring contemporary musical landscapes with artists from other
cultures.

The shows will be taking place at St. Stephens on College st. Tickets

These will be the final Toronto shows for Bird to Prey before she heads home to Australia!

be under the name Bird to Prey and is due to be out in the first half
of 2008!

U.S.A. and Canada Shows - September 13, 2007

Sarah is currently in the U.S. after spending three months in Canada working with world music pioneers, the Toronto Tabla Ensemble. (thanks to an Arts W.A. grant)

She has been delighting audiences with recent shows throughout Toronto, NYC, and Boston.

She will now be taking a few months off before she heads back to Canada to do three more shows with the Toronto Tabla Ensemble at St Stephens on October 25, 26, and 27.
